Day 1 with a new strong neck!

Well, it feels like a lifetime since my last post after surgery last night …

Our little guy had a rough night last night with the anesthesia not sitting well on his tummy ๐Ÿคข. And he was definitely not too happy about everything. He did finally asleep from 3-8am. Which means mom got a few hours of sleep on the couch and Daddy (the night owl who requires a lot less sleep) sat right next to our little patient all night.

Today has had some ups and downs but all apparently normal for first day post op. He hasnโ€™t had an appetite for anything other than 5 orange popsicles! He is running a low grade fever but that apparently is very common post operation. He worked with PT and they got him out of bed, standing, and into a chair where he happily sat for 3 hours (apparently a big milestone on day 1)! He is experiencing pain when standing from the bone grafting and hoping we can continue to manage with pain medicine (but really need him to eat more first) and get him walking tomorrow. Lastly, but most important, his surgeons stopped by and said everything looks great! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

We are praying our little guy gets some sleep tonight and feels like eating tomorrow so he perks back up to his chatty self ๐Ÿฅฐ

Thank you for the continued prayers and messages. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•

xoxo
